Messy Church

Messy Church is an innovative church model designed to be Christ-centered and inclusive of all ages, focusing on creativity, hospitality, and celebration.

It engages families through hands-on activities and communal meals, meeting typically once a month. Aimed primarily at people not regularly attending church, Messy Church offers a less formal, engaging worship experience. It's part of the Bible Reading Fellowship (BRF) Ministries, emphasizing community over traditional church-going.

Rutherglen Branch

Messy Church Out of School Care, initiated by Rutherglen Baptist Community Church in 2009, addresses the community's need for quality, affordable childcare. Spearheaded by Katie Paterson, the service has flourished through word-of-mouth, negating the need for advertising and often resulting in a waiting list. The program includes a late collection service to accommodate children attending school clubs, utilizes its central location for outdoor activities, and operates under the church's umbrella. Highly rated by the Care Inspectorate Scotland, Messy Church emphasizes a safe, nurturing environment that encourages growth, caters to children with additional needs, and values parental input.
